St. Raphael's Thinking Schools Vision
Our vision is to work together as a community to ensure that our children leave St. Raphael’s as metacognitive, self-regulated learners who are equipped with the skills of the 5 Rs. We believe that St. Raphael’s Catholic Primary School exists to equip our pupils with the skills to discover who they are and how they can use their unique qualities to make a positive impact on the world.
Metacognition is fundamentally about understanding how we learn and the way children learn. As a Thinking School, we aim to help our pupils think about their own learning more explicitly through the promotion of metacognition and self-regulation leading them to be successful, independent thinkers ready to face the challenges of the 21st century and thrive.
