Racial Justice Equality and Diversity (RJED)
St. Raphael's says NO to racism!
Wear Red for Solidarity:
On 7th February, Year 1 Rebekah led an inspiring assembly on Racial Justice for their parents. Children across the school wore an item of red to show solidarity for racial justice and equality. We gathered together as a school community to show we stand in solidarity for those who experience racial inequality and racial injustice.
The Catholic Church has designated 16th February as Racial Justice Sunday; however, the second Sunday in February is the Ecumenical Racial Justice day (9th February). In preparation for this, the children have been exploring what racial justice and equality means and that it is everyone’s personal responsibility to stand up for this.
